I use contour powder pretty much every day. So when I saw that Catrice had a nice big pan going for $7.90, I had to get it. So how does this product fare? Here are my thoughts:
Let’s start with price and packaging. This was $7.90 for 9.5g of product, which is as cheap as it gets! The product comes in a sturdy acrylic casing, which is a fuss-free and imo pretty chic looking packaging.
The formulation applies smoothly. I use a cheek brush to apply mine and it applies well and without any patchiness.
Well to be fair, this isn’t the product’s fault. It’s a bit hard to test a contour shade in the shop because you can’t really apply it to under your cheekbones and see the effect (plus, I already have shading powder on). But when I got home and tried this properly, I found that this product is a bit too warm on my skin. It would work very well as a bronzer, in that it would make you look as if you had a good tan (as the name of the product would imply). But as a contour powder, when you’re trying to create the illusion of shadows on your face, this powder is a bit too warm for that >.<
It’s a great price, a good formulation and would work great as a bronzing powder. But the colour just doesn’t work too well for contouring. >.< For those who are looking for a bronzing powder, pick this one up!
